چکیده

Objectives: The predictive value of some preoperative inflammatory markers for postoperative infective complications in urinary system stone disease has been demonstrated. We investigated how valuable the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) is as a marker development response syndrome (SIRS) patients undergoing ureteroscopy. Methods: data 495 who met study criteria were evaluated retrospectively. divided into groups according to whether they developed SIRS postoperatively or not. clinical and demographic patient well blood parameters evaluated. Results: Postoperative was detected 105 (21.2%) patients. Age, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, culture positivity, SII, neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), lymphocyte-monocyte (LMR) platelet-lymphocyte (PLR) found be significant SIRS. When areas under curve measured ROC analysis, it seen that NLR, LMR PLR had high values (area 0.73, 0.76, 0.72 0.67, respectively). In multivariate logistic regression among risk factors, age, positivity NLR determined independent factors. Conclusions: Study revealed only an factor Although there relationship between SII SIRS, not factor. Along with many other variables, may contribute

Systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS)

The concept of a systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) to describe the complex pathophysiologic response to an insult such as infection, trauma, burns, pancreatitis, or a variety of other injuries came from a 1991 consensus conference charged with the task of developing an easy-to-apply set of clinical parameters to aid in the early identification of potential candidates to enter into ...

Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome and postoperative complications after orthognathic surgery.

Symptoms of Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS) presenting immediately after surgery have lately been regarded as potential warnings of impending postoperative complications and multiple organ failure. Reports discussing the relationship between operative stress and SIRS are found in the field of digestive surgery, but not in that of oral surgery. Sixty-five patients with jaw deformi...

Systemic immune-inflammation index for predicting prognosis of colorectal cancer

AIM To investigate the clinical significance of preoperative systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). METHODS A retrospective analysis of 1383 cases with CRC was performed following radical surgery. SII was calculated with the formula SII = (P × N)/L, where P, N, and L refer to peripheral platelet, neutrophil, and lymphocyte counts, respectively. The ...

Systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) after extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO): Incidence, risks and survivals.

INTRODUCTION Systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) is frequently observed after extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) decannulation; however, these issues have not been investigated well in the past. METHODS Retrospective chart review was performed to identify post-ECMO SIRS phenomenon, defined by exhibiting 2/3 of the following criteria: fever, leukocytosis, and escalation of v...

Epidemiology of the Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS) in the Emergency Department

INTRODUCTION Consensus guidelines recommend sepsis screening for adults with systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), but the epidemiology of SIRS among adult emergency department (ED) patients is poorly understood. Recent emphasis on cost-effective, outcomes-based healthcare prompts the evaluation of the performance of large-scale efforts such as sepsis screening. We studied a nationall...
